Cake - Movie Review (3/5 Stars)

By Hamza Shafique (Instagram / Facebook)

Asim Abbasi's Cake is a bag of mixed emotions and it left me disputed. There are many moments of sheer brilliance but then there are also basic scale/pacing problems that holds it back from giving the audience required cinema experience.

Ready Player One - Movie Review (4.5/5 Stars)

By Hamza Shafique (Instagram / Facebook)

Ready Player One is 80s and 90s pop culture extravaganza like no other. I am amazed at the range of Steven Spielberg, no one can tell that this movie is coming from the person behind movies like The Post, Bridge of Spies, Lincoln etc. Ready Player One creates a unique world of its own with all the elements of 80s/90s pop culture and futuristic science fiction experience infused perfectly.

Hichki-Movie Review (3.5/5 Stars)

Review by: Danish Lakdawalaa

As soon as the movie begins, there is a lot of positivity thrown at the audience. Director Sidharth P Malhotra handled the subject very well keeping a realistic tone. Elements of Tourette’s syndrome along with perils of education system have been handled very well, even complex situations looked simpler/realistic on screen

Tomb Raider - Movie Review (4/5 Stars)

By Hamza Shafique (Instagram / Facebook)

Roar Uthaug’s directed and Alicia Vikander starrer Tomb Raider is a perfect reboot that a movie of this genre can ask for. Tomb Raider is based on a video game and many video game adaptations usually don’t work, Assassin's Creed being the latest in such failures and Jake Gyllenhaal starrer Prince of Persia is an older such example. Action adventure video games have audience engagement through interactive elements and to provide same experience on silver screen without any audience interaction creates all the problem. Luckily there is no such issue here.
